 Elam Baptist Church

Elam Baptist Church is an assembly of Bible believers. We are conservative in our theology and we believe that the purpose of the church is to bring glory to God, to evangelize the lost and to edify the saints.

  • God.

There is one and only one living and true God. God is the Creator and absolute ruler of the universe. He exists eternally in three personalities, the father, the son and the Holy Spirit. These three are equal and are one God.

    Genesis 1:1, Ex.3:14, Psalm 90:2, John 1: 1-5

  • Jesus Christ.

Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ he was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He is equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless, perfect life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by giving his life on the cross. Three days after his death and burial he rose from the dead to demonstrate his power over death and sin. He ascended to heaven after his resurrection and sits on the right hand of The Father in glory. Jesus will return and reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

    1 Corinthians 15:1-8, Hebrews 4:14-15, Isaiah 9:6-7, Matthew 1:23, Romans 1:2-6, Gen. 18:1

  • The Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He inspired holy men to write the Scriptures. The Holy Spirit is equal with The Father and The Son. He is in the world to make sinful man aware of their need for Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit lives inside every Christian from the moment of salvation and provides them with spiritual understanding and power to live a holy life.

    Acts 1:1:5-8, 1 Corinthians 3:16, Ephesians, 1:13, 4:30, John 14:15-17, 16:7-15, Gen. 1:2

  • The Bible.

The Bible is the word of God written by man divinely inspired and is the record of God's revelation of Himself to man. It is the only source of truth for all Christian belief and practice. God inspires it and is without any error whatsoever. The criterion by which the Bible is to be interpreted is Jesus Christ

    Ex. 24:4, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Proverbs 30:5-6, Psalm 12:6-7, 119:89/105/160, Psalm 50, 2 Timothy 3:16

  • Salvation.

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man. Salvation is God's perfect offer of forgiveness to the person believing and trusting in Jesus Christ. Man can never produce it through their good works. Salvation is produced by God's sovereign grace. When a person receives Jesus Christ as his personal savior he receives eternal life.

    Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8-10, Gen. 3:15, John 1:12, 3:5-7, Romans 6:22-23, Titus 3:4-7

  • Eternal Security.

It is the grace and power of God that gives security to the believer. God said he would never leave or forsake the believer.

    Hebrews 7:25-27, 10:10-18, John 10:28-30, 2 Timothy 1:121
