~ BEYOND MEASURE ~ September brings the unofficial end of summer with Labor Day, a time when we honor the past and present laborers of our country. God’s Word also places a high value on work:
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” — Colossians 3:23, ESV
“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” — Proverbs 16:3, ESV
“Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” — 1 Corinthians 10:31, ESV During September, I encourage each of you to read these verses in their full Biblical context and spend time reflecting on how we can honor God through our daily work. Consider also the words of the hymn “To the Work”. “To the work, to the work, there is labor for all… Let us hope and trust, let us watch and pray And labor till the Master comes.”
